I became a Jazzercise instructor in August 2010 because: I love music, dance and meeting new people.

Something you may not know about me is:  I won a gold medal for racewalking and was a top cross-country runner at the age of 14.

The thing I love most about my workout is: seeing every customer on the dance floor having fun and enjoying themselves.

When I am not working out: I love to spend time out in the sun by my pool and staying home.

I became a Jazzercise instructor in June, 2019 because: After 4 years of coming to classes I now want to encourage people to reach their fitness goals, and teaching Jazzercise is the most fun way to do that.

Something you may not know about me: I love to play the Ukelele

The thing I love most about my workout is: It makes me strong! I love how there are so many different aspects to a Jazzercise workout – no two are ever the same!

When I am not working out: I’m spending time with my husband and two daughters, gardening, baking, reading, teaching Sunday School, and drinking coffee with friends.

I became a Jazzercise instructor in June, 2019 because: I became an instructor (after coming to classes since the age of 12) as I have always been a groover and I have a natural cling to teaching (I get it from my mum). I love watching the beautiful faces of class attendess, evolve from stress or tired, to full of life and energy (but still tired of course from a pumper class) and look of success and I wanted to be able to share and guide them of that journey.

Something you may not know about me is: My mum is the owner of the studio so I have big shoes to fill!!!!

The thing I love most about my workout: Whilst finishing my final year of school I really struggled to find balance in my life between school, work, life, mental health and fitness. Jazzercises became my kryptonite and my way of de-stressing. I have also always had a passion for dance and have been grooving since the age of 2 so it was only natural that I would enjoy coming to class. Due to all of these reasons and a stack more it felt right to pass of my abilities and the euphoric feeling I get from class, to others.

When I am not working out: I am down in Brisbane perfecting the craft of becoming a professional commercial dancer with the hopes of working on cruise ships one day and of course teaching jazzercize on the ships.

I became a Jazzercise instructor in November, 2017 because: I decided to become an instructor after coming to class as a participant for 5 years. After each class I found I was not only becoming healthier, fitter and stronger but would smile and laugh through class and I thought this is what I love doing. So the next step was to become an instructor and share with others the positive impact Jazzercise has had on my life.

Something you may not know about me: I have four wonderful children who brighten my world.

The thing I love most about my workout is: Jazzercise workouts are never the same each class I attend or teach is always changing. So it is never a chore to exercise its always fun. The flow on effects of health, wellbeing, fitness, muscle development, endurance and flexibility just take it to another level. The friendships formed at Jazzercise are also a bonus every time you walk in the door someone greats you and chats and that adds to the workout because we all have fun.

When I am not working out: I spend time with my family and friends.

I became a Jazzercise instructor in July, 2018 because: I wanted to make people feel the same way the instructors made me feel about my workout. It was super fun, high energy and lots of laughs. 

Something you may not know about me is: I spent most of my teenage life surfing.

The thing I love most about my workout: is the effect it has on my day. Apart from being key in my weight loss and through pregnancy it gives me a positive outlook and energy to tackle my busy day.

When I am not working out: I’m busy running around after my two toddlers and thinking about my next class.

I became a Jazzercise instructor in June, 2019 because: I attended classes for 8 years before becoming an instructor. I love everything that Jazzercise has to offer, and I want to be able to share that passion with others.

Something you may not know about me: I work in childcare.

The thing I love most about my workout is: The way I feel after it!

When I am not working out: I enjoy gardening, going to the beach, staying home and spending time with the family.

I became a Jazzercise instructor in November, 2017 because: I love everything about Jazzercise, the music, the workout, the people. That’s something I wanted to capture in my life.  I love to feel connected - connected to myself and to others. I can’t dance in front of someone without being connected to them.  I love that Jazzercise is a physical expression for me and a workout (hello endorphins). I can share my feelings, ideas and my 7-year-old jokes. I don’t just dance, I feel, I perform, I breathe, I let the heart take over the mind, I feel the outside world melt away, I let go and I smile.  NOW this is something I must share with others.

Something you may not know about me is: I never did dance growing up. I grew up in the country and was always riding horses. 

The thing I love most about my workout: how much fun we have while getting a total body workout. I always leave class feeling stronger and happier. 

When I am not working out: hanging out at the beach with my family.

I became a Jazzercise instructor in October, 2015 because: I have always loved helping others enjoy the benefits of fun & effective group exercise.  I have loved Jazzercise since my very first class as it’s the perfect combination of dance, cardio & strength within a group setting which is both fun & motivating.

Something you may not know about me is: I speak Thai.

The thing I love most about my workout: is how great I feel by the end of class (usually by song 3 actually).

When I am not working out: I enjoy a long beach walk followed by breakfast with close friends (or my wonderful husband Sam).  I also love getting out and about with my son.

I became a Jazzercise instructor in July, 2016 because: I found my love for Jazzercise when I moved to Australia! It only took one class for me to fall in love with it!I love how much fun it is! I love meeting new people that want to take care of their health and bodies, and seeing how great they feel after a fun workout! It’s always a mini dance party! And our customers are empowering and full of positive energy!

Something you may not know about me is: that I enjoyed writing poetry when I was in high school and college. Somewhere during my busy life with work, starting a family and moving to Australia from Canada, I forgot my love of writing words. Recently, I decided to start a journal and hope that my poetic mind finds me and I can fill my pages with words that inspire me.

The thing I love most about my workout: that I end up feeling amazing and reenergised! No matter how my day has been, one Jazzercise class gives me enough positive energy to put me in a great mood. It’s my hour, my ‘me’ time, my dance party!

When I am not working out: I enjoy spending time with my family. We love travelling and exploring new places. We enjoy the great outdoors. Boating, fishing, camping are some of our favourite things to do.
